wanted 14kv ish transformer in the uk.

hi
im in the early stages of my new project, im after a suitable transformer 14kv ish capable of 500ma ish, does anybody have a spare one sitting in their shed or bottom draw, love this site lots of cool stuff.

A 500 mA 14KV transformer does not fit in a drawer and is rather difficult to ship. Pole pigs are BIG...

hi bwang, bottom draw was a joke. are pole pigs generally found in the us or are they also found in the uk??

I have seen pole pigs in the UK, but don't know much about them.

There was one opposite our house when I was a kid, but I don't recall seeing one recently.

I did once see a sub-station transformer in a scrapyard once, and managed to get the silver plated(?) nuts, studs, etc off it, along with some insulation board stuff.

They're called "distribution transformers" over here. Try joining the tcbouklist group on Yahoo Groups and asking there, somebody may have one for sale.
