hi im in the early stages of my new project, im after a suitable transformer 14kv ish capable of 500ma ish, does anybody have a spare one sitting in their shed or bottom draw, love this site lots of cool stuff.

I have seen pole pigs in the UK, but don't know much about them.
There was one opposite our house when I was a kid, but I don't recall seeing one recently.
I did once see a sub-station transformer in a scrapyard once, and managed to get the silver plated(?) nuts, studs, etc off it, along with some insulation board stuff.

They're called "distribution transformers" over here. Try joining the tcbouklist group on Yahoo Groups and asking there, somebody may have one for sale.
