The 1n4007 diodes work ok for a multiplier running off camera flash inverters. I built a few multipliers using 1n4007's and was able to get 15kv out or so. You just need a higher frequency as the impedance of the 22nf capacitors are limiting your current at 60hz line frequency. My multiplier used 33nf caps I think.

Okay I will give it a shot with a camera transformer and see what happens.

I was about to post the same thread, except I haven't built mine yet i want to make this Link2 just for fun but i have never built a multiplier. I was wondering if someone could point out the diode/caps i would need, Also i dont have an audio transformer, but i do have a transformer form a electric mosquito racket. Could this work?

Just for reference,
I have an 'ionizer' that runs directly off 240 Vac 50 Hz into a 15-stage multipl;ier
and it uses 10nF ceramic disk capacitors (the low quality Z5U type)
and 1N4007s ... works fine as the current is so small.

It seems difficult to acquire disposable camera here,
the non disposable ones have much more circuitry and I seem to have a tendency of not getting them to work.
