So I want to get some of this to experiment with using it as a catalyst, anyone know where I could get a substantial quantity cheap? Preferably wire, but any is good...

Well last I checked the price for silver was $37 an ounce, so if you just plan on using it as a catalyst why not buy silver coated/plated wire?

Silver coated is a much better idea, thanks...
now is there anywhere to get that cheap other than the internet?
Or ways to get things like silver nitrate cheap?

It can be recovered from photographic and x-ray film. I've been tossing out film exposures that didn't come out right, I guess maybe I should save it.

How much do those cost to ship from Seattle?
and how hard is it to recover?
or where can I get some of those locally for free/cheap?

I suppose it could be stuffed into a flat rate box and cost whatever that size of box does. I haven't produced much of it lately though. No idea how to extract it, I just know that it's possible to do. As for other sources, you could try film processing shops, there are usually unexposed tails left over from developing film.

Got some wire here, about a foot IIRC.
Also some silver rods about 4cm long by 4mm diameter.
Any use?
