Powerex are just discontinuing the -H series, they are still manufacturing the -NF and -NFH versions of the CM300s, CM600s and the rest of their product line. These are improved versions of the older -H series, so this is good news.
ISOTOP IGBTs never really took off it seems, as they were quite expensive to manufacture, and performed much worse thermally than TO-247s. They bring advantages where several devices need to be mounted close together on the same heatsink, but with some care I think TO-247s can give us at least the same performance, if not better.
I've seen a lot of people bashing TO-247 in favor of ISOTOP, but I haven't yet seen any data or direct comparisons to back it up.
Remember, DRSSTCs were made possible by the huge improvements in IGBT technology that have happened in the recent years, and IGBT technology continues to improve. IGBTs get faster every day, and they find more and more applications, so I think the future of solid state coiling looks bright.

TO247s can outperform Isotops if the heatsink is allowed to be live. If the TO247 needs an insulating washer, the boot is on the other foot.
Or maybe they can't- I seem to remember the original "Miniblock" had a headline rating of something like 540W, and I've never seen that in a TO247. The IXYS part we all have to use now isn't nearly so good.
I agree with the comments, power electronics can only get better, new exciting devices are coming out all the time. I'm keeping an eye on silicon carbide MOSFETs. The SiC JFETs were nothing special for Tesla coils.

Is the original "miniblock" the HGT1N40N60A4D? It has a power dissipation rating of 298W (0,42 k/w) according to the datasheet. The TO247 version of the same IGBT (HGTG40N60A4) is rated for 625W of dissipation (0,2 k/w).

there goes my future plans unless a new place to get them crops up, i want to build a DRSSTC but i got almost no money and im to young to get the stuff atm :(
