Hi,
I've been thinking about building a Tesla coil, but I was wondering, is there anything you can do with it other than just make some nice plasma?
Not that I have anyhting against plasma, but it would be nice to do something else with it too...
For example, my plasma speaker can be used to power anything HV that I want, like a jakobs ladder (with the added bonus that I can audio-modulate it) but what can you power with a Tesla coil?
Thoughts?

I don't think anyone has ever come up with a practical use for a Tesla coil. Even Tesla himself never really got anywhere with that.

... well then... can it be used to power another tesla coil for a mega-epic tesla coil?
and audio modulated at the same time?

you can audiomodulate a tesla, they are on youtube... and there was a video where a guy was playing an electric keyboard and these huge arcs were the speakers. I'll try and find it

I know they can be audio-modulated, why is it that the large ones never have good sound quality?

Audio modulated coils are cool, I'd still say this is using the term "use" loosely. They're fun toys, you can do a lot of cool stuff with one, but still nothing really useful.
