I can't seem to find a panel-mount (top view) nixie tube that has a regular "5" and not an upside down 2. Does anyone know of a tube similar to the IN-12 that has a regular 5?

Only some of the Russian tubes had that weird 5. Look for one of the American or British tubes. They're more expensive but generally much better quality tubes.

I don't agree with you, I've seen different types of Russian nixie tubes of great quality and robust design.

Yes some are very well made, not all Russian tubes have the upside down 2, but Russian tubes are the only ones that ever did that.

Here's a gallery with many different types and pictures Link2

As far as I know, all of the Russian tubes have "IN" prefixes while the US and European tubes don't.

Note that the labels on Russian nixie tubes will begin with the Cyrillic "ИН" which corresponds to Latin "IN".

Shoot an email over to Dieter at Nocrotec! More than likely he has exactly what you are looking for!
That guy loves nixie tubes more than i do, and mine almost get their own bedroom! He is super cool and if
he cant help you he will happily steer you in the right direction. Here is a link to one of his reference pages (not nocrotec, but still Dieter)
Maybe youll see what youre looking for here.
Link2

Look for the zm1120 under nixie tubes, end viewed with numerals! The 5 is normal.
