If you want a VERY loud speaker, you could try inductivly coupled plate modulation in a Class C Armstrong.

That's the next thing I'm going to try with my vttc. I recently bought an audio output transformer on Ebay which I'll use as a modulation transformer. That way I won't need to build any extra audio amp circuits to drive my vttc because the 4 and 8 Ohm windings can be driven directly from the speaker terminals of any audio source!

Edit: I'm going to see how my Fender Strat sounds when when I drive my vttc with my guitar amp!
