I think this is splitting hairs honestly. From a cooling standpoint I don't think you'd see much difference between oil and water, or beer or any other household liquid for that matter given the amount of heat dissipation of the bricks. If corrosion is a problem there's always the option of installing a sacrificial zinc anode.
