Apologies if anyone has seen this before but it seems interesting.
I wonder if its possible that elements substantially heavier than lead might have properties that no other elements or compounds have, such as superconducting at temperatures normally reserved for complex cuprates? Could get interesting if it turns out that this is true...

Steve McConnor, and someone else, both made comments about the efficiency of lead acid batteries recently.
Maybe it's time I posted my 'half-baked' ideas on electro-etching/electro-polishing, and 'electron clouds' (which I alluded to in a recent thread regarding capacitance and dielectrics recently).
(electrolytes are also dielectrics. not sure if this is relevant to the use of SO3 instead of H2SO4 in the article you linked to)
(my theory-if you can call it a theory- relates to energy levels (states) of electrons in 'wet chemistry', and relates to observed phenomena that, apparently, couldn't be explained 15 years ago)

Superconducting plutonium compounds have been discovered, as well as uranium and cerium. Well, it was published in Nature, anyway. The plutonium compound had a Tc of 18.5K.
