EDIT: ok i just did a check turns out i put a zener diode the wrong way around :S could that brake it?
Where'd you use the stranded wire? If it was for the inductor that may be causing too much leakage inductance. Try thinner gauge wire to tightlier (not a wordwhatever) wind the toroid. It helps, and also, use a powdered iron toroid. Ferrites tend to give too much inductance and therefore little tiny arcs.

I used #18 stranded wire for most of my primary windings because it's what was laying around. Mostly wires salvaged from a pile of dead ATX power supplies. The primary winding is not critical at all, a piece of lamp cord would work fine. If you wind it bifilar, do make sure you get the polarities right, it needs to be wired as one center tapped winding all wound the same direction.

i did some more testing turns out one side does not cause it to cut out but the other side of the Coil does (the one connected to the side where i put the diode the wrong way around (fixed now))
