Hey thanks a lot for the schematic! Looks very interesting! My DC power source i've made for ZVS induction heater is capable of 50VDC. For the snubber cap what kind of capacitor should be used for IRF260N? Can i use MKT X2??

can i use PC power supply yellow cores for the feedback transformer?

Another very dumb question, Have you tried this circuit ?? How does it work?

As for the snubber caps directly on the fets, try something like 5% the tank cap value, I think it's not critical, just to kill voltage spikes during switchover transitions (which should be very short).
Always use polypropylene (MKP, FKP) caps for resonant circuits.
For the feedback transformer, use a high permeability ferrite, like for normal power transformers.

I used a very similar (if not identical) circuit for a ZVS SSTC experiment. The feedback worked well, the coil didn't but that was not a problem of the driver...

Hey thanks man!
After trying out the mazzilli circuit i'll give your circuit a try. Just need to get those low side gate drivers ! :)

Interesting circuit Mr. Dark Current.
I'll try that variation too, to see how it works.

Is the same rule of voltage applied do this circuit? Something near 64v for the 200v Fets?

What about that two resistors near 74HC? what the values of them?

If this circuit work well for an Induction heater it will be the most simple feedback based IH i think...

Thanks!

Gabriel35,
-Yes, the peak voltage is ideally pi times the input voltage. For some headroom, use FETs with at least ~4-5 times higher breakdown voltage than the input voltage.
-The resistors set the free-running frequency and should be identical. As for the frequency, it should be near the resonant one but I think the circuit will start OK even if its further away. Always ramp up the supply voltage slowly (soft start, Variac) to ensure proper start-up.
-Yes I see no reason it shouldn't work for an IH. The feedback is fast so it should operate into the hundreds of kHz range.

the zvs is done. But the output power disappointed me !!! now its time to give your circuit a try....can i drive IGBT bricks with your driver and welding supply for power source???
