Hello all, I built my computer about a year or so ago, and I've noticed ever since I built it the power supply has some funky voltage readings coming out of it using Speedfan.
+12 volts is fine, 3.33 is fine, and +5 volts are fine, But the -12 volts reads -16.8 volts, and the -5 volts reads 1.68 volts.
Is that safe? or Okay? My computer runs fine, obviously but it's always been in the back of my mind ever since I built it. It's a 600 watt OCZ Stealthxstream psu... Phenom II x4 3.2 GHZ cpu. Radeon HD 4870 Graphics, Gigabyte Mobo, don't specifically remember the name but it's socket AM2+
Hitachi 500 GB Hard drive, 7200 RPM and a SuperWritemaster Lightscribe DVD drive...

I've seen Speedfan report some weird voltages before, I think it's more an issue with the motherboard than the software. Anyway if in doubt just measure the voltage directly with a multimeter. You can find the ATX connector pinout online and poke probes in the back while it's operating.

-5v, thats cute. ATX standard removed the -5v line from the ATX connector in version 1.3, so I'd take any readings there with a large grain of salt. the product specs dont list a -5v current rating either.
