I'm still trying to optimize my miniSSTC.I tried to add or remove some primary turns but no matter what I tried the spark is less than 10cm(110VAC input) and MOSFETs gets very hot in several seconds.

Any webpage explains how to turn SSTC?

My currently secondary is 11cm in diameter ,length is 40cm 1000turns.My primary is 5 turns on the same PVC pipe.I use IRFP250 and I install a big heatsink.

I followed the original steve miniSSTC except disable body diode like this Link2 and using IRFP250 instead of IRFP260.I can't find IRFP260.

Thanks

For the primary you can run all of your numbers here. It will give you a basic idea of what you are working with.

For my HFSSTC, I simply slide the primary coil up and down over the secondary. Easy: Link2

you can't tune a a sstc, if you do this the coil will be a DRSSTC and will run very bad with sstc circuits (will run ok, but isn't safe)

Radhoo, could you possibly PM me the schematic for the Armstrong oscillator you used? I would like to adapt it to other purposes.....*rubs hands together*

Sure - You can find the schematics on the page I've posted, but here is the link again: Link2 . The circuit diagram is the first picture at the top.

Other purposes being an induction heater ^^ I wonder and hope this will work.

Poor yellow rubber duck, it appears that one way or another - is going to get cooked after all.
