All,
Having just completed yet another purchase from China, with the compulsary free shipping, (Just some protoboards I'd rather have tomorrow) => I am yet again baffeled by the time it takes an allegedly *Air* Mail shipping operation to deliver goods worldwide.
This is what they have in store for me: Delivery Time is as follow: (A) United States / United Kingdom / Australia / Canada: 7 - 25 working days. (B) Other Countries : Maybe take up to 3-8 weeks.
Sometimes I wish I could just pay my way into getting the goods in a couple of days, but no way!
Let's not speculate! Does anybody know why HongKong air is so slow from what does otherwise appear to be a very efficient environment.

Anyway, that was for an unladen swallow... the answer seems to be about 11 m/s (fantastic analysis here , which, bearing in mind its about 9600 km from HK to London and assuming the little chappies/chapesses don't stop for any "comfort breaks" etc. and fly on a "great circle" route (maybe using a relay like the old stage-coach postal system), should take it just over 10 days...
...which astonishingly & disturbingly is pretty much exactly the time bits & bobs I regularly order from HK take to arrive here...
Maybe, indeed, they do use lightly laden (presumably Asian) swallows!!!
