I prefer Picard to be honest wink

Its a SSY head. Bigger lamp. I hate realigning mirrors, so the SSY is the best choice.

It doesn't.

Its a pulsed ND:YAG system as he says, you dont need a large power source in order to pulse a flashlamp or a pump diode array to drive a yag into very high powers.

So the differance here is a Q-switched pulsed laser, if you were to use a CW system you will definatly need a larger setup and a bigger power source (I think the current record for a CW system is 100KW output).

Diode pumped, on the other hand...but that would cost too much and be a waste of a perfectly good DPSS.
You should go 532 nm green! Visible is so much cooler than IR.

Visible would be cooler, but way harder to make and more expensive. The parts for it wont grow on trees.....yet ^^
