how to drive a FBT for corona?

Is is your flyback toast because your arc loss forced it to arc internally? ( Voltage too High ) or is the failing due too high of power input?

I have a 150 Mohm, 40 kV (260uA, 10.4 watts) in parallel from HV out to ground. But I dont know if that helps keep the no load voltage from rising?
