Hey all, need a ferrite core, preferably U core, similar to how flyback cores are designed. I need one for an Induction heater I'm going to build, and it needs to be able to push 1500-2000 watts of power through it at around 100 khz switching frequency. PM me please. :)

Im still trying to figure out how to make the calculations that determine power, volts per turn, and primary turns, and what all the permeabilities mean...? oersteads vs guass.

Fluxeon sells U cores good for more than 1.5kW for their induction heaters. I bought a few for $12.50 each set, including brass screws, gap shims and a fiber form for the primary.

has all the ferrite you will ever need.
Hi bwang,
I'm wondering how much do these price international shipping? And I assume the $7 is price for one core? Their site is somewhat difficult to get around.

They ship by UPS. $7 is for 1 core. Domestic shipping cost me $17 for 2 cores. Actually, their largest core is the $13 U-core, which has longer legs than the $7 one.

when there listing says "price each" does this mean price for one full core? or does it mean price per half-core?

Just email Garrett at Fluxeon, **link** and ask for the cores used in the Roy induction heater. Neon John's website shows details for winding it. They buy these cores in bulk direct from the manufacture, I really doubt you will find much better deal than the $12.50 they charge. That's for a full set, two core halves, two gapping shims, brass screws and nuts to hold it together and a fiber form for winding.
I have no affiliation with these guys, just a satisfied customer.
