hmm... is it possible, that a relatively simple instrument can detect the nature of reality by examining noise?

I read Wikipedia on holographic physics and it doesn't make any sense to me, but from your linked article it seems like they think they are measuring the noise spectrum of gravity. If gravity is indeed quantized then it makes sense that it would have a noise spectrum, much like electronic noise comes from the quantization of charge (at least some noise does, can't remember for sure if it's all noise). The shape of the spectrum would be of great interest in verifying quantum descriptions of gravity.
