This is the second time I tried to build the miniSSTC.But it still didn't work very well.I only get 3cm spark using 50V AC input.
and one MOSFET is much hotter than another.I checked my circuit many times but still can't find out what's wrong.

have you properly calculated tank capacitor?

There is no tank capacitor to be calculated in this SSTC, this circuit is self tuning from a antenna feedback.

I would like to see the power section schematics that you used, it's quite hard to see what you have made except there seem to be 4 diodes and 2 MOSFETs, but I can't be sure...

You certainly did not follow Steve Wards final schematics for his SSTC5... Link2

Mads:
It looks like he has followed it correctly, although I can't be sure there are no mistakes in the board.
That brown wire not connected to anything is his antenna.

*%?:
Is your circuit oscillating? How do the waveforms look at the gate resistors?
Have you checked that the Mosfets are working, you can do this with a diode meter.
What about your ground? Is it sufficiently grounded?

I'm sure my MOSFET is working.I connect it to mains ground.Later use I a secondary with lower frequency and connected it to 110V mains,I get 10cm sparks.

I also found something I don't know why:I once tried to run my coil in CW mode.So I remove 555 and connected the enable pin of UCC37321 andUCC37322 to VCC.But the coil dosen't work at all. I'm sure when it is running interrupted, it oscillate successfully.
When I have time,I will measure the waveform on the gate resistor.

My power section.I add 2 diodes to disable MOSFET body diode for the ultrafast diode to function correctly. Link2

The negative rail is only connected to the diode and not directly to MOSFET 2.

The reason this coil will not work in CW mode is because when the interrupter is enabled, it gives the kick to the mosfets that starts oscillation. The enabling of the ucc's sends in a pulse of electricity.

It is still the same.I'm now building a DRSSTC.
I want to know why steve wards can get 9 inch sparks with it but I only get less than 10 cm?
