Hi guys, A SSTC which driven by full bridge IGBT HGTG40N60B3 (TO-247 footprint), input voltage is 250v above 20A,Steve Wards' miniSSTC driver. The IGBTs don't have protection diode so is MUR1560 (600v 15a) capable for using? Do I need to add bi-polar zeners between gate and emitter? Cheers.

1- The MUR1560 is capable and will run ok!
2- The best way to protect the gates is putting zener, but don't need to be bipolar, you can use two normal zener in anti-series mode.

TVS work great for protecting the gates as well.
