I wanted to know if they're worth anything, being made somewhere in the 1960's and 70's.
I got two. One's an XR2207CN Voltage controlled oscillator...looking on ebay, selling for around 10-20 dollars, is that right? And, One AMD C3101A SRAM chip from AMD. These go for 6-30 dollars on ebay...
I don't know what to do with them, they look cool though, in these ceramic DIP packages.

They are worth whatever people are prepared to pay for them. Either keep them and use them or stick them on EBAY and let market forces decide what they're worth. I would also say that if your teacher gave them to you because you show an interest in electronics and he thought they would be useful to you then IMO selling them would be a bit immoral.

Yeah, That's true. They were just thrown in his huge collection of IC's though, and i just picked them out because they 1. Looked different, and 2. AMD doesn't really make IC's anymore as far as I know.

I second this also. These kind of teachers are few and far, and I was forchunate enough to have one exactly like yours. Dont screw with a man's generosity and backstab him. Either use the parts or give them back.
The only thing I dont agree with Martin is that it would be a "bit immoral", it isnt "a bit" in any way. Even thinking what you said Inducktion, makes you no better then low-life scum. thats putting it nicely IMO.

... unless you count Sempron, Athlon, Phenom, Opteron ...
They DESIGN them but they don't MAKE them any-more. They used to have a fab but it was hived of to become "The Foundry Company" and is now "Global Foundries"

I was just wondering, that's all. I'm gonna keep them as collectibles because they look retro, and it'd be kind of cool to show my kids one day, if i have kids.

Then their value is irrelevant and if you just need to know for curiosity's sake then the EBay guide prices should be enough.. I found a rotating laser level in a skip once, I've no interest in selling it (unless I get into serious financial difficulty) but a quick EBay search revealed what it was worth (and yes I was slightly surprised ) Turns out the UK Topcon agent is 5 minutes drive from my house, they checked it out for free and confirmed it is within spec. it just had dead batteries.
