I am setting up a group buy for these cores from ferroxcube.
]u1005725.pdf[/file]
The distributor has a very high minimum order limit
Stop playing around with Puny flyback transformers. These massive ferrite cores can handle up to 5000 watts of switching power at 100khz and 1500 watts at 25 khz. With 1200 volt IGBT and high power mosfet you can strike up blue hot arcs all day long without breaking a sweat. I am closing this group buy out on February 10 2011. After sunday 2/7/2011 I will be raising the price by 10.00 so act now.

Cost 29.95 per cost of two U cores includes shipping to lower 48 states. internationals add 10.00 for 1st class usps.
PayPal address **link**
you will get the cores within 2 weeks of close of group buy.

Please post or send me a pm if you have any more questions. paypal email is just for paypal.

Check out these cores from TSC: Link2

They are almost the same size, just a tiny bit bigger (102-57-25 as opposed to 100-57-25), they cost less (7.20 per core half in single quantities), and as far as I know there is no minimum order.

I've four similar cores, see here for details:

Link2

Which I'm planning to use for a power supply.

It will be very interesting to see what others do with the cores from your group buy. (how they drive them)

(I'd suggest you also look into buying coil formers/bobbins, as I'm having problems obtaining some in small quantities and I'm having to make my own.)

Does Anders make a good point with this supplier, or should I join in your purchase group, microwatt?

EDIT: Never heard of this company, but if they check out, I think ill use them exclusively form now on. I need planar cores, about 200 of them for a upcoming project. At 0.45$ each thats better thenother corps I've tried to deal with.

I've bought stuff from TSC in the past, their prices are excellent, and they are friendly to hobbyists, so I often recommend them when questions like this come up.
