A fuse is definitely thinking outside the box though!

Also, a diode is not a passive component. It does require to be biased to operate so technically its somewhat active.

To clarify definition of passive would be (wire, resistors, capacitors, inductors)

Well then just my circuit with shorted diode, lamp shold have too low voltage on it and no illuminate...
When switch is pressed other one is shorted and first gets enough voltage to glow.
Or everybody just completly missed the point confused cry

ok, this would work if the button was being pressed and released like in the animation.

Is this it?

That with two batteries suffers from same problem as my circuit:
Here bulb B will have some voltage (6V) on itself, trough 12 ohm resistor.
Mine has split its voltage trough other bulb.
Same happens with mine circuit without diode...
Obivously its not allowed to have any voltage on bulbs??

Lots is unexplaned here...

The voltage drop on the resistor is 12V (Ohm's law; the 24V supply divides equally between resistor and bulb A) and the "balancing" battery voltage is also 12V, so the bulb A "sees" 12-12=0V; unless the switch is pressed. The switch shorts out bulb A and now bulb B sees the two batteries in series but the 12V batt is connected "wrong way", so the voltage on bulb B is 24-12=12V.

OK for that, thats the way it works, but im talking about circuit 12V battery-R2-bulbB and bulb has 6V on it in that circuit, just like mine (my circuit is different but it doesnt matter now) and im wondering is this ''allowed'' confused
Should we say that bulb is on with 6V or not...

Err, could you please explain that to me a bit...? I don't see any reason why bulb B should have 6V on it... confused It has either 0V (12V on resistor and 12V battery cancel out) or 12V on it (when the switch is pressed)

I don't have time to think about it right now, but an idea I might throw out. What if the power source was AC?

last thing I can think of... a big light dependant resistor, picking up light from the other bulb (assuming this classes as passive...)
