From what I have read, the highest frequency you can efficiently use a diode at is 1/(10*Trr)

Most microwave oven diodes datasheets state the Trr as greater than 500 ns (or don't even mention it at all...). Anyone have an idea how much greater than 500 ns?

Does anyone have any experience running MO diodes at higher than 60 Hz?

It would be nice to know what frequency you could run these, they would be great for ignition coil rectification if it could rectify efficiently up into the KHz. I know 1n4007 diodes can be used to rectify ignition coils, but they are faster than the MO diodes i presume. And then, im not sure what frequency i saw the 1n4007's being used, it could have been as low as 50Hz.

I use 4 of those diode in serie to rectified the output of a ignition coil in resonance and they get very warm,I think the driver frequency was around 40 khz .the diode from smp microwave oven should work better...
