I built this SSTC according to steven's miniSSTC.But it dosen't work.I have checked my soldering and I think all my components are OK. The input voltage I use is 15V.I have successfully power my micro SSTC with this voltage.
I found that if I remove 74HC14 and disconnect the half bridge I can hear a tiny sound produced by my GDT.When I put my 74Hc14 back the sound disappeared. is this normal?
I put diodes on the "source" pin of my MOSFET because I read that the ultrafast diodes MUR860 will be useless unless I do so because the body diode is not fast enough so I need to disable it.
How can I know if my controller or half bridge is OK? update:I now fix it.The reason why my controller dosen't work is that I connect the antenna to the wrong component when I'm soldering.Now I can see some sparks. BUT I found that my half bridge SOMETIMES short circuit and SOMETIMES it is OK. and my spark is much smaller.I built this coil several years ago and the spark is much bigger at that time.I use the same secondary.

just from the pic your secondary looks waaaaay to big. for the driver your going to need a scope, for your mosfet bridge put your multi meter on logic (resistace) put the + on pin 1 and the - on pin 3, if your meter beeps or shows a low resistance your fet is good
