Hello
I'm a 4th year electrical engineering student.
At my university during 4th year we undertake an individual project
For my project I am to design build and test a SSTC demonstration unit for the EEE department.
I have already found most of the information needed to construct the unit but I was wondering if any of you guys new of any university papers with regards to tesla coils solid state or otherwise.
Searching through my own Universities library have come up blank.
When I get started with the construction I'll put up a thread in the projects section

Have you tried looking for more "scientific" terms? e.g. Resonant Air Core Transformer
Also, I am sure there will be many papers concerning specific aspects of the design such as the topology that might be helpful in referencing specifics to build a overall description.

I know of one paper written about solid state tesla coils. It is titled "Solid State Tesla Coil" an is by Dr. Gary L. Johnson. You should be able to freely find it on the internet. I recommend everyone to read this paper as it not only models the tesla coil resonator, but the final sstc design employs a very interesting base fed scheme using a bridge of IGBT's in serises.
Good luck with your project, it sounds fun.
