I've been searching for such a chemical solution (for tin plating PCBs AFTER etching) for quite a while. I've seen quite a lot of videos but haven't been able to find a formula for the solution. I have found one in an old chemistry book stating: for tinning copper use:
20g tin chloride (doesnt say 2 or 4 chloride) 200g sodium lactate 1l water.
Haven't tried it yet. Have someone tested something like this ? Or know other wchemical solutions ?

Yeah I use liquid tin thats good stuff, it's like magic, you could just tin it with solder you know

I have seen the "Liquid tin" in action (youtube) and indeed - really impressive stuff, but the problem is that I can't get it here (Bulgaria) and posts does not want to ship liquids ...
Hey - how long a bottle of 500ml last you guys ? As I am doing quite a lot of PCBs ....
For those reasons I was searching for a "DIY chemical solution".

I don't know the composition of "Liquid Tin," but the standard formulation for electroless tin plating uses tin II chloride/SnCl2, thiourea/CS(NH2)2 and sulphuric acid/H2SO4.

cool, reckon this might be a good starting point for making magnetic solder? my plan here is to use the tin plating solution to plate the iron particles (might work..) then introduce to the solder, low melt alloy etc.
Anders M. - do you happen to know a brand name ? As I wasn't able to find it in crystal form. I've saw one video in youtube where the guy put some powder in the bath.
Good day Proud Mary - do you think that it will work OK for PCBs ? Those chemicals are easy to find here so if I can find an accurate "recipe" (how much of eache chemical) I would give it a try.
