I really like the pink hot glue gun!
I have a similar (while a bite smaller) core, which looks like it could give me something like 10kV 100mA... it's 67.5*72.5mm with a cross-section of 18mm, quite heavy
I'll follow this thread with interest

For a SMPS is there a downside to having an oversized inductor (inductance) for the expected minimum and maximum current? That is, if the calculations state that 150uH are required, is there a problem with using 1mH?
