Home Depot has 50 packs of Satin Nickel finish 1-1/4" cabinet knobs for $54. Sadly, I don't think Satin Nickel finish conducts electricity (Google says it is lacquered).

They are for sale on ebay at sizes up to M30 - when they are no longer cheap, but neither is 30mm threaded stainless steel bar cheap. But very good when an adjustable high power gap with good heat capacity is needed - say the single gap on the end of a Rayleigh pulse forming line.
