Grenadier, is that what you did?

Yes it's what I do, but I still tend to explode mosfets anyway by pushing them too hard.

Do you think 36v @ 10a is a suitable PSU for the IRFP250s? You are the guy from Teravolt.org, aren't you?

Those IRFP250N's would withstand an Uin of 50-60V in excess fairly easily. I cranked up to 11cm arcs with IRF540s with Uin 32-35Vdc.

Double-check your FETs (with a diode test, desolder them first, then discharge their terminals and measure the internal diodes, plus G-S).
When I was building my first ZVS, I had the collector-emitter reversed at one FET; pay attention to their internal diode polarity in the schematic. And if that won't help, replace the flyback or the resonant cap.

Hi all, here is an "idealized" ZVS driver on LTSpiceIV, I post it here so that it can help these who want to look at the waveforms before trying for real.
Because I have no inductance meter, I'm not really sure of the inductance values. But with those settings, it charges my capacitor bank as fast as my ZVS driver does.
If you guys just want to make sparks, remove the capacitor and the rectifier bridge, it will work as well .
You have to add the IRFP250N spice model to your LTspice library ( see attached ). You have to remove the .txt trick before.
As I told you, this is an idealized model, though I included the resistance of both coils.. If you have any comments or suggestions ( primary's and secondary's inductance?), just let me know here = )

And I forgot the most important, here it is.

You noticed that I had to force the voltage at node A to ground level, else there would be no oscillations...

I have remade the circuit and I am waiting to get the SLAs before I test it out. I know it's puny, but I tested it with 6 volts and there was no output. Is that predictable? I have changed the flyback twice and no diffrence. Maybe it's the PSU or the MOSFETs. The circuit is correct, I know it. Here are some pics:
(I know it's messy but I tried to make it simple as possible for me.

You need more voltage to get it going.

Grenadier, would a 15 ohm 250mA NTC thermistor work for this circuit? I plan to use 3x 12v 7.2Ah SLAs for my PSU. The thermistor doesn't sound powerful enough but is it? Also, if I connect the SLAs in series to get 36v, what's my final output current?

the current rating is the steady state current after the thermistor heats up. 250mA will not be enough.
Link2 has lots of info about ntc's
