Neat stuff! room temperature superconductors would be the big game changer. Just imagine this: tens of thousands of miles of lossy transmission line replaced with rtsc line capable of transporting thousands of amps.

Imagine a lo voltage DC transmission system, no capacitive or inductive losses. Not pactical in edison's time but now we have those fancy little switch mode power supplies.

hmm, well this could be a game changer indeed.
Seems that Josephon junction based logic could leave silicon in the dust, with no losses the switching speed could be ridiculous, in the high THz range if not more.
Imagine a memory chip which used the quantum superposition to store >4Kbits per cell; with a cell density not much more than the early 486's you could store the contents of the Library of Congress on a chip the size of a 24C08.

EDIT: Looks like Max Planck have made YBCO superconduct at room temperature for very brief periods under IR laser illumination.

the implications are that materials similar to YBCO such as YSr2MnCu3O7+ could superconduct at room temperature under selective narrow wavelength IR laser irradiation due to the same mechanism even though under normal conditions nothing happens due to charge density waves occuring even at LN2 temperatures.

An additional modification I invented is to use magnetometer and laser temperature/current feedback to autotune the system so that the laser phase locks to the correct wavelength; this is used to tune green lasers and is a common technique but in this context used in a novel way that has never been tested until the earlier discovery was published.
