Whaaa?? Marx generator?
I ended up scrapping the project due to space constraints and poor design; the ten-foot PVC-tower with 200 pounds of capacitors strapped to it did not seem very sane.

if you can find some carbon comp 2 watt resistors that are 750k to 3M you can make some resistor srings. I use 5 X 1M. tap water has enough resistance to make tygon tubing resistors ie liquid resistors like 8 in x 1/4", and you can add salts if you want lower resistance ,ie table salt or copper sulfate. if you still want to use inductors a 6" X 1" inductor of that 22awg would be fine if you are unshure just see what you can get away with using 2-3 stages. then build the whole thing. I built my marx using 50 kv stick caps 33nf ea about 800kv worth. what a crack and louder than a gun shot and to fast to see. I have enough for 2Mev but it was getting to tall and heavy for the moment. just remember that the resistors will diapate energy when it charges. if you want one crack then your resistors just have to be thin and long. If you go for rep rate then beafy resistors are in order

It still doesn't change the fact that the structure needs to be fundamentally 10' tall to hold off the voltage safely. At best it would be a pair of 5' towers, which is still rather unwieldy.

Nope, the project has been shelved...perhaps years later I'll revive it, once I'm less busy (and less lazy).
