I'll try and spit this out as clearly as possible:Started out with the intent to replicate the dual 811a coil on Steve Wards site.Problem is I was hellbent on using acrylic tubing for the coil forms and none of it is the same size as the materials he used.I'm not so concerned with the primary and secondary because I've built enough spark gap coils to be able to wind up equivalents.Problem is with the grid coil;how do you know roughly where to start as far as the number of turns goes and how close to the secondary should I place this? Not sure exactly, what I should be seeing coming from the grid coil either.I'm just paranoid of frying something as alot of time and cash was spent on this.

The grid coil will be wound on a form 5 3/4" in diameter.

O.K. ,I'll give that a try. Thanks for the input on the use of magnet wire,I was going to use that but I have tons of good old cheap hookup wire to use.Could I bother you with another question? Is there a method to determine a ballpark recipe for the grid coil or is it all done from experience? If so could you suggest a resource(s)? I also gotta say those are some beautiful coils you've built. Thanks again.
