I've found various crystals, in different monitors, i'm gonna use the 4mhz as an example,
this is a pretty amiture queston but i'm new to radio curcuits.
i was hoping to amplify these osculations and run a High frequency high voltage transformer off of this.

Connect ground to 2 caps, you'll need to find out what capacitance to use for that particular speed, then connect the remaining lead from 1 cap to one lead of the crystal, then the other capacitors remaining lead gets connected to the other lead of the crystal.

You can see many oscillator circuits here, you can use an inverter with a few external components as in one of the examples.
4MHz is probably much too high a frequency for your transformer, you're probably better off using a low frequency (10's or 100's of kHz) RC oscillator, such as can be made with a TL494 or 555 chip.

yeah i know, i SHOULD use a 555, but i was thinking of putting this on my web site of a simple DIY hi-fi transformer, for people low experience, or low money like me could do,

I've built some pretty complex curcuits, this is not for me, its a simple but powerful project that an amature can do, the most complex curcuit i have made was JM's 100kv flyback driver, that thing was fun

The most simple thing that i have ever used was a crystal in parallel with a 74hc14's gate and no external components. It worked sometimes, but had trouble starting, so i added a 1Mohm resistor in parallel with the gate/crystal and it worked perfectly fine right at the 4MHz of the crystal.
