I'm going to go with very cool.
These sorts of things always make me a little sad, though. Once the knowledge that made machines like this possible was lost, it was well over a thousand years before machines of similar complexity could be built again. What might we be building today if the classical civilizations had not fallen?
Of course, I *do* have a pocket-sized device sitting on my desk with more computing power than one could have fit on an entire desk when I was born, and it does allow me to access more or less the sum total of all human knowledge, so I can't complain too much.

But yes, given the exponential rate of technological development, it would certainly have been a more interesting world to in which to live without those blasted dark ages setting us back so far. However, with our advances come troubles. For all we know, if we hadn't been set back, the world, due to industrial and technological advancement, could have been in a far worse situation with regards to overpopulation and resource depletion. For all we know, devastation caused by things like the plague are the world's limiting factor for our advancement and in turn, its preservation, and that we are quite fortunate to exist in a time where our technology is ripened and its consequences are for now (seemingly) at bay!
So, I agree; let us go forth and continue to not complain too much.
