Has anyone tried building TC at such high resonant frequency?
For imagination - Secondary> i use 1100 turns 0.2mm wire dia on 4cm pipe, length of winding is 22cm (well, number of turns can be 200 more or less) Primary > V type, 8 turns of 6cm diameter down and 10.5cm upper diameter. resonant capacitance - i tried 16.3nf, which i cant tell if its ok or not, i dont have scope, but i can be sure it worked in DR, as sparks were really louder and also a lot (twice) longer.
For fullbridge i used IRG4PC50W , which are "ultra warp" speed 600V 55A IGBTs packed in TO247 package.
Should i try to continue with that or am i just fighting with wind mills? Those IGBTs are not cheap, and if they fail everytime, maybe its just a job for cheaper mosfets...
Behaviour of this coil is just strange - spark length is increasing, decreasing, something wrong is going on here, i never occured this type of fail. Capacitors seems fine because coil is getting mad even without it. Sometimes it is working fine, and then a big spark occurs and continues to run, or not, it depends... Coil lasted to run OK for about 5 minutes.
