What things should i be aware of if I want to store some stuff out in the garage, when its 0-20F outside all month? Stuff like Neon signs, MOTS, SCRs, etc should be fine right? No worries for rust...damage..etc?
My main question...Capacitors. Electrolytic computer grade capacitors. Is it bad to store these outside in the cold? Is the freezing point of the liquid inside known? Id imagen if it frozed, that will destroy these capacitors. and it will range anywhere from -10F to 30F all month...I have them outside, but if it risks damage, I'll keep them inside.
Any other tips/suggestions for outside storage? In garage, just about the cold...

i dont think there is much danger as long as there non-operational, and slowly re-warmed before normal use. oil in caps wont freeze like water as it cools it will thicken, but maybe we could see with dry ice what does happpen to capacitor oil.

Your issue with unheated storage of electronic gear is moisture. If you can keep it dry, storing it moderately cold temperatures wont harm it. Dont attempt so fire it up cold though unless you have specifically designed to do so.

So its probably best to keep my capacitors inside, if I plan to take them out and blast stuff occasionally?
Stuff like transformers, should be fine..Seeing, NSTS...They are made for outdoors, so they are made to even live in -30F environments. Most I'll be using during the winter is the MOTS, SCR, and bank of capacitors. I would imagen the MOTS being just wire would be fine. If anything it keeps the core longer to heat..but not much a difference really.
