A while ago i cam across a REALLY OLD Samsung microwave, inside it was the YEC HV M/W Oven Power Transformer, YSH-200, Y5115-6(N)
It is the best mot I have ever used, i can arc off of it for 10 MINUTES! after that its pretty hot but no were near over heating around 105 degrees F (40.5C) and it doesn't smell like a mot does when it over heats, i just found another one on ebay that i just bought for $10

it looks pretty old and dirty in the picture, the person said it works, and the label looks like it has burn marks like some one arced to the top of the core.

Toshiba's microwaves have them. They are Japanese made x-formers. About 5.5 x 7" if I'm correct. You don't have to go back too many years (1986-92) they are in the higher end Toshiba's. I have a stupid amount of MOTs and I'll dig through them: I think I'm correct.

Makes since if it's that big, takes more time to heat, and takes more abuse. Most modern MOTs you find get prity hot after, well going off mine, id guess 5 minutes until they start to get really hot. Never smoked one before.

um its not so much that its big, its that the primary is wound with 18 awg wire, and that the secondary is wound with 26 awg wire, all for high current,
i thought in stead of taking pics i'd just take a video until my battery hog camera kill a set of batteries, at the end its was luke warm.
i can't wait to wire up 2 of them
btw... the caps are not nuker caps they are motor start caps, 440vac each and 6 of them in series
i bought them at a flee market for 25cents a piece

yeah there is abit too much capacitence there, i use those caps because of had too many mo cap failures, one of the mo caps of mine that failed said "contains pcb as dielectric oil" what could happen too me cuz that crap when every where i wore mask and go it clean up.
