I found 16 80KV/6.66nF capacitors the other day I think they're real pulse caps, but I'm not sure, especially since Ion Physics Corporation seems to manufacture current monitors and small Marx Generators these days, not capacitors. Anyone know anything more about these caps? I'm trying to figure out something fun to do with them.

Either a Marx Generator or a can crusher... though it would be more like a can obliterater. I would suggest coin shrinking but 4hv does not permit speak of illegal activities (i.e. taking currency out of circulation). ;)
Actually, the first thing you should consider is a HV capacitor charger if you don't already have one! :)
... I am filled with envy! Let me know if you ever have one too many capacitors and ~200 dollars too few.

Hmm...I wonder how suitable these would be for Tesla coil use. A 16-stage Marx generator sounds cool though I worry there will be technical difficulties involved in building one.

80kV * 16 = 1.28MegaVolts
Go 4 the marx man! Use these caps at their full potential, you could use an x-ay transformer to charge them all up very fast. Ho does meter long sparks, maybe even 5 times a second sound? It's going to be very loud with those caps, that's 4 sure.

Meter-long sparks sounds beautiful...now all I have to do is find some charging resistors (and an x-ray transformer). Does replacing the charging resistors with inductors work? I've heard of people trying it, but I can find very little information on whether it works in practice.

It works, but you'll have to find someone else to help you there.
X-ray transformers are easy to come by, all you need to do is buy a dental x-ray head on ebay and disassemble it. A 50kVp one should do just fine since it ill give you (50kv / .707) = 70KV peak out. Plus you'll have an x-ray tube at your disposal to do anything you want with.

If you can't find specs then I wouldn't go for a Tesla Coil. Pulse discharge is meant for quick and powerful events, not continuous with 100% voltage reversal.
I'm thinking Marx generator is your best bet. I think you'd better start with just like three, as you'll find it becomes somewhat of an EMP bomb at around that point...
Inductors will work great, so just grab some magnet wire and wind some single-layer air coils with a couple hundred turns... you'll need a lot for voltage standoff and blocking the relatively longer pulse from 6.66nF.
It may sound a bit daunting but 80kV resistors won't be an easy task either and will elongate the charging time...

X-ray transformers are specified in peak voltage, so a 50kV one will give 50kV peak. 50kV ones aren't very common at all though, 70kV ones are by far the most common, and 90-100kV ones are used in some dental x-ray heads.
