heh. I have been collecting parts together for just such a device, scored two half working laser printers yesterday...
shame I didn't keep the printer casings from the all-in-one HP's, but without a way to dismantle and shred the ABS they would have been just more bulky stuff to store.
The biggest issue with these seems to be the lack of an inexpensive source for wire feedstock.. I also found articles suggesting that common SnAg lead free solder can be turned into magnetically formable induction heated solder which can be printed where needed (effectively the solder equivalent of a reprap print head!) and we have experience with building IH's The really cool part is that a microscopic drop of this material could act as a cheap alternative to a drill bit and router on most plastics if alternately heated and pulled with a permanent magnet from the print head. Plus its reuseable, just "pull" it off the workpiece and store in a reservoir.
