That is EXCELLENT news! I really wanted to work with these but thought that (1.) I would simply we wasting my time & a important product that could be utilized in a different fashion & (2.) I dug out 4 of them and being able to use them is a wonderful source of a HV diode that I thought would only be available retail!
While I DID know that NTE does a lot of middle-manning of products, they really DID place them in a section wherein the confusion with their Zeners was annoying. (Hard-copy section of their catalog.) In NTE's identification software, confusion reigns supreme especially if you're just a hobbyist and really don't know this stuff. I also had not heard of Zener's going that high: but if they did there MAY have been a price-tag that would be a shame to cook them in an experiment. I wish the "box of stuff" was still going around because I have some parts that I'm sure someone wants; with the amount of tearing down I've done. The real pity has been the difficulty identifying transformers, thermesters, & TO-220-type packages but I won't go there....
Realistically flat screens are getting so prevalent that CRT's & analog products generally are being junked right & left. Now would be the time for anyone wanting to scavenge parts to make their move. Perhaps in a few years they may not be available.
I deeply appreciate the time and research.
