I got a power supply from college along with about 40lbs of glass and some other power supplies too. I just wanted to post some pics so you guys can see what the guts look like. I think its really interesting.
The design uses a lot of the Wima caps for its pulse forming networks rather then large heavy doorknobs. I want to reverse engineer it, but that will take a massive amount of time.

Pretty cool, lots of good components in there! I got bits of a few supplys that must have been made by the same mfg, lots of french made stuff. I've still got the flat bleeder resistors, those neat Garnier HV relays and a few of the big red epoxy potted blocks. I'd be curious if you figure out what's in the latter, I thougth they might be flybacks / xformers but without the circuit they came from I couldn't tell for sure.

I know at least one of the blocks is a pulse transformer because of the SCR network, the center tapped ground, and the output leads. Some of the others are going to take some real guessing. One has heavy leads and a feedback output so it could be a CT or a choke with a feedback winding. Hard to tell I agree!
I hope I can get a laser head for it someday. I'm down two parts really, the circulator/sump and the head, but that's about it. I do need to replace the fans that were scrounged out of it, and get one of the control/interlock cables I forgot, but after that, she'd be good to go.
Next issue... I don't know what a YAG laser does. Guess that means I have to read Sam's laser faq huh.
