locking up threads. (maybe too strict??)

hotcrazyfruit, Mon Mar 23 2009, 02:16AM

Recently, 3 of my threads were locked. i am not pleading that they be unlocked. i think that there was slight mis judgment in locking up threads. the "Multi-Stage Coilgun" thread Link2 especially. 3 of the 5 reasons were (in my opinion) completely irrelevant. with 3 reason being.

Oversized images.
Use of the "xD" smiley.
Two spelling mistakes in a three-letter word.

i think that i should not be dis credited for the locking of the thread which was not my fault either, (it was double posted)

i don't think either of those reasons should result in a locking of a thread.
just a suggestion that there should be warnings before a mod or admin locks it up. i know it is in the rules. but people forget things.
i hope this suggestion isn't taken hostile.

I believe the thread was rightfully closed. We do have certain standards here when it comes to posting.

"Oversized images." - According to the rules, images should be less than 400 pixels wide. This alone is not reason enough to get a thread closed of course, but combined with all the other rules you broke, it is.

"Two spelling mistakes in a three-letter word." - Of course we don't demand perfect spelling, but at least make an effort. When a post has more spelling mistakes than words and there are words with more errors than letters then there is a lot of room for improvement. A spell checker will get you a long way, and capital letters are not rocket science.

You also broke more rules than the ones stated, but listing everything is wasted time when the ones stated are enough to close the thread. When other members make informative replies that you don't understand, sarcastic responses are not the way to reply. Double posting is also not allowed. All posts should have a point.

Warnings are of no use when the thread is already beyond all hope.

If you think the rules are "completely irrelevant" then this is not the place for you. Get your act together if you want to remain a member of this community.
