Here are some Pics.

I actually have no Idea. It seems like their are 12 (2 rows of 6) IC which manage the whole thing. They are REALY large and are connected to the actual DIsplay with some kind of parallel Bus.

The large chips are probably shift registers. Serial in and parallel out with drivers.

It is not uncommon to find a 12 pin bus on a display, maybe it is compatible with the most common ones for LCDs.

Sounds good. Additionaly I have found 2 rows of 7 Chips, which are also connected to the display like the 12 other. But these are much smaller.

the big ones are SN755118PA
the small ones are SN751506FT

I will study more...

Helloooooo!!

Im waking up this old thread after eight years of slumber.

Did you ever get anywhere with this display ? I aquired one today and have been googling my dick off tryiong to find atleast a pinout on the controller ic SN751521GAFT, i've found out throubg the manuals for the toshiva T3000 series portables what signals the thing expects, but not which pin is what signal.

have a look at contacting a chinese manufacturer from those selling cheap LCD controllers, mentioning a connector like that one...

last time I had to research small LCD touchscreens which came without datasheets, and had a ribbon which was identical between brands... I had a look at ebay, and sent a message to ask if those panels were supported, and voila instant pinout and equivalents

Although this is not a LCD panel, and i have more or less confirmed its just your bogstandard CGA input, but with the addition of a data shift/pixel clock.

I think i have this thing figured out now, it has two 4bit parallel buses offering two levels of grayscale.

A video: Link2

Next step is having the arduino generate some 4bit parallel data to write something on the screen other than just generating H and V sync.
