that is the wrong direction lol, I'm sending to the computer. anyyway, do you think i should try to design an antenna for what i got or to try to find a different module (xbee, bluetooth etc)??
edit: no i still cant get it to work from outside after i cut it smaller, it only got half way there (from outside)
the yagi antenna would be a better choice over the quad antenna right? because its directional? though you did say a directional quad, im note sure what that is, wiki does not mention it. wikipedia has this for a 3 element one, (director, active element, reflector) so what is the remaining 2 and how do the formulas change for 5 elements? does the other half of the active element connect to ground? hmm no i have i have to design a balun? what about the 50 ohms, how does that come into the design?
Backing up what Dr. Conner said, bluetooth is often used in point of sale systems and warehouse operations. You can use it to transmit data up to around 100m if you have the right modules. It'll be a lot simpler. An added bonus is that it's flexible and can be used for other things if you ever needed to cannibalize parts from your current setup to build something else.
