I’m not sure whether I can start thread like this since I’m still very new here, but you can easily ignore it…
So, the New Year is here and I have few things on my chest I’d like to get them off:

First, I noticed 850 people are members of this board and that’s quite a lot – congratulation to the founders! I would not be surprised if some kind of “big brother”- like organization have already spotted this board – so hello guys mad

Second, I miss one thing and I’d like to ask for all the thread contributors. Please try to add pictures to your threads. It makes the whole story 1000 times more attractive…

Third, I think there could be something like stable sections on the board which could be easily accessible (something like **Add your Tesla coil here**). My suggestions are: “My first SSTC – information for the beginners” and “Blind Way – what you should never try” For the second section I can offer a lot cheesey

I think other people have other suggestion so let’s make the admins happy here…

And one more thing: Thanks guys, it is great fun to participate...

Cheers Mates

I'll add my 2cents here too:

Since we don't like double posting, could we have a warning screen that pops up if you try to post twice in a row in the same thread before 48hours since the last one? There could be a quote from the forum rules for the "new members", so they know that they are breaking them.

And another thing that comes to mind: Some times when you make a long reply, someone else makes another post before you get to submit your own post. Then we get all these edits "Oh, I see "member X" beat me to it..." We could have another warning screen that pops up if someone else posts while you're typing your reply. Then you could check what they said so you don't end up posting the same thing. I've seen this on other forums and it seems to work well.

Anyway, these are just minor things. Would still be nice if we could have these.

Zb: those aren't bad suggestions and I know other boards have those features. I wouldn't mind seeing them, either, but I reckon Chris is tired of hacking the e107 software we use. It's been defunct at times. My guess is that we'd switch to a new forum engine before adding new features.

Mates: don't worry about the noob thing - we don't really eat them here (I swear).

My own view of thread images: they're nice in moderation. Best to have a smallish pic to give a taste and then have a bunch of links to the rest for those who want more. It's a waste of resources on both sides if every thread viewer has to download a thread full of images from the 4hv server.
