I just received an nst I bought. I've heard about these new types. It is model: ja a410el made by johny austin neon. It is 10kv at 30ma. It shuts off when there is no load on the hv side. I hav heard that they use high frequency to produce hv. Is this true? and if it is, would that mean it is not necessary to build a terry filter for tesla coil use?

Why do you say that? Because of the type of NST it is or because it isn't charging with 60 cycles therefore our usual formulas don't work. Tesla used a high frequency generator to power his coils, and a spark gap too.
