Just wondering why change to this new board software? So far I was rather happy with the old "blue 4HV" because it downloaded much faster than this. Also this new 4HV seems to have more glitches than the old one.

I also liked the recent threads list on the left which was on the old site, much easier to see what was new rather than having to browse each topic in the forums.

The development of the old software stopped so no more security or bug fixes. The new software also is less resource hungry and has better support for plugins. A plugin for displaying a recent thread list is being worked on.

There are some quirks with the new software, hopefully it will improve.

Would this equate to faster loading as well? Since the launch, my loading times for the new 4HV have been extremely slow. This is true whether i use my work computer, my home computer, my laptop computer, or the computer at my parent's house. The page will usually load, then stop loading and lock-up for about 2-5 seconds, before finishing loading. This is true for almost every thread i load.

It makes the server generate the page faster. Why there is a delay I am not sure. It seems almost like the browser does not display the page until it has been completely downloaded and rendered, in addition there sometimes are some other delay.

The delay is variable and seems to hit some people worse than others, I guess it would only take a few minutes for someone that knows the details to figure it out.

The spikes on the graph are pages that had long delays, data seems to be transferred all the time but the display of the page is not before all the data has been downloaded. I found some pages in the archive that had similar load times but they displayed the top of the page instantly so it masked the load time since it is possible to start reading at once.

I noticed the slow thing as well, but now it's much quicker. I'd be intrested to know what settings you've "changed" tongue Or are they top secret shades
