As far as I can see the phase between input and output is inverted, i.e. the dots need to be the other way, and I'm not sure the dv/dt of the turn on will be enough to kick the input the other way to start the oscillation.

I would have thought you need more gain in the loop to ensure oscillation. Also what are you doing with that 2n2222 at the bottom of the bias chain? Is that meant to be a constant current bias? Because thats a horribly unstable way to do that - depends heavily on the transistor gain and temperature. You would be better off with just a resistor. Also startup is more likely if you were to bias your follower into class AB.
