I would use 5-0-5 kv and Kapton, along with conventional electrical tape in sharp areas. Electrical tape is legally rated for 600 VAC, but its sort-of-iffy insulation strength is about 10-15kV if no sharp points or stretching is seen. BUt use mostly Kapton.

I have bad memories of tape insulated d.i.m. (did it myself) high frequency high voltage windings, and capacitors I use mylar with rubber adhesive tape 5kV rated, not ideal but best so far for my uses. (The yellow tape found on smps transformers etc.) It is expensive, but cheaper and less annoying than an insulation failure

Ross Make a sketch were you cam see the cross section of the winding . Them you have better idea about the voltage between turns an between layers, between core and winding, etc.. You can download the electronic transformer book by Reubem Lee that will give you very good information about insulation
